Marc Watkins

Assistant District Attorney

Marc has worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Douglas Judicial Circuit since August of 2007. Before working in Douglas County, he worked for the City of Atlanta Solicitor’s Office for 3 years. A graduate of Morehouse College, Marc received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science where he graduated with honors. He went on to earn his law degree from the University Of Miami School Of Law in Miami, Florida. While a student at Miami, Marc achieved numerous honors and accolades that include: winning a Moot Court competition during his first year; winning a school wide Negotiation Competition his second year; returning to the finals of the same Negotiation Competition during his third year; and he received the Kozack, Tropin and Throckmorton Scholarship which is awarded to the student who demonstrated outstanding trial advocacy skills. Marc is a member in good standing of the Georgia Bar and also a member of the National Bar Association.

Prior to attending college, Marc served in the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged after 5 years of distinguished service. He is active with the local chapters of the Morehouse Alumni Association and the University of Miami Alumni Association. Marc also sits on the Board of Directors of the University of Miami School of Law and he is active with the Rho Pi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated.
