The Douglas County District Attorney’s Office has two new lawyers that have recently joined the staff. Reid Thompson, a former Fulton County Police Officer, and Alicia Andrews, a recent graduate of the University Of Mississippi School Of Law, complete the 10 member staff of Assistant District Attorneys to District Attorney David McDade.
“I am thrilled to have these two new assistants in my office,” said McDade. “They both have unique skills that will serve to enhance the entire office as we seek to serve the citizens of this county and victims of crime.”
Thompson, who joined the office in April of this year, is a graduate of Georgia State College of Law. He received his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Georgia. Thompson began his legal career as a patrol officer in Fulton County. After attaining the rank of Lieutenant with the responsibility of supervising 30 officers on patrol, he decided to go to law school and continue his career as a prosecutor.
Andrews joined the District Attorneys Office on August 15. She is a graduate of the University Of Mississippi School Of Law and received her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Mississippi. Andrews has numerous honors as a public speaker. While in college she was a member of the University Speech Team, winning over 30 regional top speaker awards and was a national qualifier in the debate competitions held by the American Forensics Association.
“It is a privilege to work with all of the attorneys in my office who enjoy their job and are committed to what they do,” said McDade. “I welcome Reid and Alicia to prosecution and know their background and experience will serve them well.”
